Belmont University Professor James I. Elliott will sign copies of his new book, God’s Neighborhood – A Hopeful Journey in Racial Reconciliation & Community Renewal, Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Borders Bookstore in Franklin, Tenn. God’s Neighborhood, published recently by InterVarsity Press, relates shares how experiences with Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy helped Scott Roley, co-author of the book, transition from a career as an up-and-coming contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter to a new career as a community leader and activist working in community development and renewal.
Elliott, a professor of music business at Belmont’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business, will be joined at the book-signing by Roley. The book signing begins at 7 p.m. at the store, located at 545 Cool Springs Blvd. Suite 190. Elliott co-wrote a song, “Believe Me Now,” with contemporary Christian songwriter and performer Steven Curtis Chapman, which appears on Chapman’s new album.
