The International Association of Business Communicators Nashville Chapter has selected, Dr. Sybril Bennett, professor of journalism, as recipient of the EXCEL Award. Bennett will receive the award at the organization’s 2013 Gold Pen Awards ceremony on Oct. 17 at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Nashville, Tenn. The annual awards program honors Nashville-area business communicators for projects in diverse categories that demonstrate excellence in communications, creativity, effective strategy, and measurable results. “The Excellence in Communication Leadership” or “EXCEL Award” recognizes an individual who exhibits leadership in fostering excellence in communication.
