The Nashville Business Journal reported on the launch of the Scarlett Leadership Institute at Belmont University. The new program is custom-built around the leadership development concerns of 50 prominent CEOs.
Joe Scarlett, the former CEO of Tractor Supply Co., funded and facilitated the institute. Other local business leaders taking part in the program include Chairman of Belmont’s Board of Trustees Marty Dickens at Bellsouth, Mike Edwards at First Tennessee, Stan Hardway of Hardway Construction and Bill Sheriff from American Retirment Corp.
In an inaugural, five-day retreat, participants will participate in workshops, discussions and panels on topics such as work/life balance, ethics and communication. Mary Fink, an instructor at Belmont’s Center for Professional Development, will direct the institute.
