Belmont Announces Schedule for Homecoming 2014 Feb. 3- Feb. 8

Belmont_Homecoming_Game_02.02.2013-21-LBelmont University invites alumni, friends and family to attend Homecoming 2014 Feb. 3-8 for a week’s worth of special events. The week-long celebration, centered on the theme “Destination Belmont: There’s No Place Like Homecoming,” will feature the grand opening of the new Alumni House, two basketball games, a residence hall banner competition for students and a campus-wide pep rally and bonfire. Julie Thomas, director of constituency programs in the Office of Alumni Relations, said, “We are excited beyond measure about Belmont’s Homecoming 2014. With the opening of the Alumni House in the heart of Belmont’s campus, it sets the stage for new beginnings as an Alumni Association. An array of events are planned featuring the many talents of our alums, and we look forward to a wonderful time of celebration as we embark on this new chapter.”

5-8 p.m. Homecoming Kick Off Event (Beaman Lobby)
5:30 p.m. 22nd Annual Commercial Music  Showcase featuring performances by students Katelyn Fox, Andrew Galucki, Joel Heumann and Aimee Webber (Massey Performing Arts Center)

Tuesday, February 4
7 p.m. Battle of the Bruins talent show and fundraiser (Curb Event Center)
All athletic teams will be showcasing their talents to raise money for Special Olympics!

Wednesday, February 5
10 a.m. Homecoming Chapel with recording artists Dwan and Marcus Hill (’09) (Neely Dining Room)

Thursday, February 6 (Wear Red Day)
1-2 p.m. Staff Campus-Wide Pep Rally
12-5 p.m. Canstruction (Beaman Student Life Center lobby)
Sponsored by SGA, students will build Belmont symbols out of canned food, and all cans will be donated to Room in the Inn
5:30 p.m. Music City Milestone Award Presentation (Alumni House)
6:30 p.m. Faculty/Staff Appreciation Dinner (Beaman A&B)
6:30 p.m. Alumni in the Legal Profession Reception hosted by the College of Law Student Bar Association (Baskin Student Commons)
8 p.m. Code Red: Men’s Basketball vs. Murray State (Curb Event Center)
