James Al-Shamma, assistant professor of theatre, co-facilitated a panel on Middle Eastern and Middle-Eastern-American theatre and performance at the Association for Theatre in Higher Education Annual Conference in Montréal on August 1.
As part of the panel, Al-Shamma presented a paper titled, “The Birth of Modern Iraqi Theatre: Church Drama in Mosul in the Late Nineteenth Century,” co-authored with Amir Al-Azraki of the University of Waterloo.
