On Thursday, October 6, five finance students from Belmont University won 3rd place against 19 local firms in the first annual Fifth Third Bank Stock Market Challenge to Benefit Junior Achievement. The students were Ben Bates, Joe Drake, Ben Feller, Patrick Linton, and Megan Whalen. In thirty trading sessions that lasted only 80 seconds each, the students turned $500,000 into a portfolio worth $6.2 million for an amazing return of 1140%.
