Rolling Stone Hails Belmont’s Music Business Program

Rolling Stone magazine has honored Belmont’s music business program in its “Schools that Rock” College Guide. Rolling Stone says: “The most worthwhile music program in Nashville is offered by Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business. Students who graduate receive a BBA (bachelor of business administration) with a concentration in entertainment and music business.”

Belmont University creates new community scholarship

Belmont University today announced the creation of a generous new scholarship program for high school graduates who live in the area surrounding the university. The Community Outreach Scholarship will pay 50 percent of a neighborhood student’s tuition for up to eight consecutive semesters.

Music Industry Educators Association moves offices to Belmont

The MEIEA, which brings together educators and professionals with interests in furthering education in the music and entertainment industries, was founded at Belmont in 1979, and will be housed at the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business.

Memorial Foundation Gives $500,000 Technology Grant to Inman College of Health Sciences and Nursing

Funds will provide state-of-the-art equipment and open the door to a new “distance learning” option for nursing students in Middle Tennessee.
Rendering033.jpgThe Memorial Foundation has approved a grant of $500,000 to Belmont University for capital support for technology in the new Gordon E. Inman College of Health Sciences and Nursing building, currently under construction. The Memorial Foundation’s grant will be used to help equip the new facility with the best in health sciences training technology, including simulators, task trainers, computer software and other equipment, video conferencing and satellite communications web-casting capabilities. The technology will make it possible for faculty to teach remote students who are entering Belmont’s health sciences programs.

Belmont Sets “Send-Off Celebrations” For Incoming Freshman

Belmont University is inviting alumni along with current students, new students and parents of students living in the Memphis area and in the Nashville suburbs of Williamson County to attend one of two Summer Send-Off Celebrations in early August. The events will give alumni, students and parents a chance to meet Belmont University President Dr. Robert Fisher and other campus leaders, learn about current developments on campus, enjoy food and entertainment and meet other students, parents and alumni from their area.

Celebrity Basketball Fundraiser at the Curb

The Tennessean reports on Tennessee Titans wide receiver Drew Bennett’s Celebrity Wheelchair Basketbrawl Game, played at Belmont’s Curb Event Center Tuesday night. The well-attended event raised funds for United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee and ABLE Youth.
