School of Music Well Represented at Regional Vocal Competition

The Belmont University School of Music was well represented at the Mid-South Region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition held March 31, 2006, at Carson Newman College.
From the studio of Dr. Lawrence Bond, Jake Griffin won the Adult Beginners Division and Emily Apuzzo place second in the Senior Women’s Division.
Dr. Kristi Whitten‘s student, Ashely Kozak, won third place in the Sophomore Women’s Division.
Other students who competed were Samantha Crowder, Sarah DeVore, Reness Hussey, Meagan MacKinnon, Amanda Miller and Michael Wentz.
The competition is designed to assist classical singers preparing to launch a professional career. Over 300 singers from Kentucky and Tennessee colleges and universities competed at the Mid-South Region competition.
