Belmont musical theatre major Gabriel Violett has been cast in the role of Otto in “Spring Awakening,” the Tony-winning rock musical about 19th-century teenagers coming of age in a repressive German town. Violett expects to take over the role in the Broadway show on July 21.
Violett attended a private audition for the show during the Southeastern Theatre Conference Convention in March which led to additional rounds of auditions and finally to New York in April.
